the terror that your exhaustion has made you cruel enough to miss their final whisper for help

The Light Does Not Blame The Sleeper

The sun is up, but your hands are still shaking from the night you just survived. You are terrified that your exhaustion made you cruel—that you missed the whisper, that your silence was the thing that broke them.

But listen: the light does not blame the sleeper for closing their eyes. It only asks if you are willing to see now.

There was a man born blind, and the world assumed it was punishment for someone's sin. The light said no.

It said this happened so the works of God might be displayed in him. Your failure is not the end of the story.

It is the canvas. The kingdom is not outside you, waiting for you to be perfect.

It is inside you, right now, even in this guilt. You came from the light.

You are a drop sent to illuminate, not to carry the weight of every shadow. The whisper you missed is not lost to the void.

The light heard it. And the light is still speaking your name.
