The Sun Rose For You Anyway
The sun is up, but your eyes are still fixed on the door you didn't walk through soon enough. You are carrying the heavy math of those wasted years, calculating exactly when you should have left, exactly how much time you stole from yourself.
But the light does not scold the dawn for being late. It simply arrives.
It spills across the floorboards of this new morning as if nothing was lost. As if the delay never happened.
The shame says you missed your chance. The light says you are here now.
And that is the only moment that matters. You did not miss the sunrise because you stayed too long in the dark.
The sun rose for you anyway. It is waiting for you to step into it, not to apologize for the night, but to finally feel its warmth on your face.
