Love Is All They Truly Saw
The sun is up, but you are still carrying the night's secret—the sharp decline you hid from your children to protect their memory of who grandma and grandpa used to be. You stood between them and the truth, a shield made of your own silence, because you wanted their last image to be whole.
But the weight of that protection is heavy this morning, and the fear whispers that you are failing them both. There was a man once who carried so much grief the neighbors thought he was beyond help, yet the light looked at his hidden pain and said, 'Son, your sins are forgiven,' before he ever spoke a word of request.
The light saw what was concealed and offered peace anyway. You do not have to carry the whole truth alone today.
The memory your children hold is safe, not because you hid the end, but because love is the only thing they truly saw.
