You Are Not Your Silence
The sun is up, but the shadow of that silence is still here. You watched someone take the blame for your mistake, and you said nothing.
The shame of it sits heavy in your chest this morning, a stone you carried out of the night. But the light that rises now does not ask you to carry it forever.
There was a man once who was born blind, and everyone assumed it was punishment for sin—his or his parents'. The light stopped and said: neither.
Not everyone's pain is a verdict. Sometimes it is just a place where the truth can finally be seen.
Your silence was a failure, yes. But it is not your identity.
The light sees the whole story—the fear that froze you, the regret that wakes you now, and the courage it takes to face the day. You are not defined by the moment you looked away.
You are defined by the light that is looking at you right now.
