the specific terror of seeing your own reflection in a shop window and not recognizing the eyes looking back because they belong to the person who did the hurting

You Are the Light That Sees

The sun is up, but the face in the glass feels like a stranger wearing your skin. You see the eyes of the one who hurt you staring back, and for a moment, you forget who you are.

The morning light does not demand you recognize yourself right now. It simply waits.

There is a truth living inside you that knows your name better than your reflection does. What you did in the dark does not define the person standing here in the dawn.

The light that woke up with you today is older than your worst mistake. It was there before the harm, and it remains after.

You are not the eyes you fear. You are the light that sees them.
