Rest Is Not A Betrayal Of The Dying
The sun is up, and you are wearing the face that says you are fine. But underneath the mask, there is a heavy, quiet guilt: you slept soundly last night while the world burned.
You rested while others died. It feels like a betrayal to wake up refreshed when someone else took their last breath in the dark.
But listen — the light does not scold you for resting. It knows the weight of the world is too heavy for you to carry without stopping.
Even the Savior, knowing the cross awaited him, slept through the storm while the boat filled with water. He did not stay awake to prove he cared.
He rested because he knew the light holds the world even when his eyes are closed. Your sleep was not negligence.
It was an act of trust that the universe did not collapse while you were unconscious. Take off the mask.
You are allowed to be glad you are alive. You are allowed to breathe.
