The Dawn Does Not Demand Performance
The sun is up, and the text message is sent. You canceled.
Again. And now the shame is sitting on your chest, heavier than the sleep you just woke up from.
You told them you were sick, or busy, or overwhelmed, but the truth is simpler and more terrifying: your body finally refused to perform. It laid down the mask last night and said: no more.
But listen — the light that is rising outside your window does not demand a performance from you either. It shines on the flowers without asking them to bloom on schedule.
It warms the ground without requiring the grass to prove it deserves the heat. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his failure, and he ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. You do not have to clean yourself up to be met by this light.
The dawn arrives whether you are productive or not. Your worth is not tied to your ability to show up today.
The light is already here, waiting for you to simply be.
