the quiet terror that your worth is only real when you are useful, and that rest is a theft from those who need you

The Light Does Not Labor To Shine

The sun is up, and the mask is already on. You move through the morning performing a worthiness you do not feel, terrified that if you stop being useful, you will cease to matter.

You treat rest like a theft from the people who need you, as if your stillness is a betrayal of their survival. But listen — the light did not earn its place in the world by working.

It simply shines. It does not labor to be visible.

It does not spin thread to be beautiful. It is there because it is there.

And you are that light. Not because of what you produce, but because of what you are.

Thomas says the kingdom is spread out upon the earth right now, but you do not see it because you are too busy looking for the next thing to fix. The light is not hiding behind your productivity.

It is waiting underneath it. You were not made to be a machine that generates value.

You were made to be a mirror that reflects what is already whole. The terror whispers that you must keep moving or you will be abandoned.

But the truth is quieter: you are held even when your hands are empty. The mask can come off now.

The world will not end if you sit down.
