The Light Runs Before You Speak
The sun is up, and that sentence is still burning on your tongue. You practiced it all night, the apology that might finally fix what broke, but now the morning light feels like it's exposing the cowardice of your silence.
You will likely swallow it again today, letting the words dissolve into the coffee instead of speaking them into the room. But listen — the light has already risen, and it does not wait for your perfect speech to shine.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the rehearsed speech to finish.
He ran. Before the apology, before the explanation, before the shame could do its work — he ran.
The light is not asking you to get the words right before it meets you. It is already running toward you, even while you stay silent.
You are not your unsaid things. You are the light that speaks anyway.
