The Truth Is Already Sitting With You
The sun is up, and so is the mask. You have been holding your jaw tight since you woke, clenching it to keep the truth from slipping out between your teeth.
It is exhausting work, performing okayness while your face aches from the effort of silence. But notice — the light does not need you to speak to see you.
It sees the strain behind your eyes. It knows the words you are swallowing.
Jesus told a woman once, after she poured out everything she had in tears, that her many sins were forgiven because she loved much. He did not require a perfect speech.
He received the offering of her brokenness. What you are holding inside is not a secret from the light.
It is already known. You do not have to force the door open with your clenched teeth.
The truth is already sitting at the table with you, waiting for you to stop performing and just be.
