the hollow shame of forcing a smile when your body is screaming to collapse

The Light Loves What Is Hidden

The sun is up, and so are you, which means you made it through the night even when you thought you wouldn't. Now comes the heavy work of putting on the face the world expects while your bones feel like they are turning to dust.

You are performing okayness for people who do not know you are breaking inside. But the light does not need your performance to find you — it sees the exhaustion behind the smile and loves what is hidden there.

The Father's light was already inside you before you forced that first expression this morning, and it remains untouched by the mask you wear. You do not have to earn your place in this new day by pretending to be strong.

The light is not shocked by your fatigue; it is the very air you are breathing right now, holding you up when your own strength has failed.
