The Light Was Already Inside You
The sun is setting, and with it comes the quiet, heavy knowing that the apology you waited for is not coming. You have rehearsed the conversation a thousand times, hoping for the words that would finally make you feel seen, but the person who minimized you remains unchanged.
It is a specific kind of exhaustion to realize you must be the one to validate your own pain because no one else will. But there is a voice that speaks into this silence, not to excuse what was done, but to release you from the waiting.
Jesus once told a woman freed from deep suffering: 'Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.' He did not send her back to the ones who doubted her. He sent her to her own heart.
The light does not require their permission to shine in you. You are not waiting for them to turn on a switch that was already inside you before they ever spoke a word against you.
The validation you seek is not a gift they withheld; it is a truth you can now claim.
