the grief of mourning the version of yourself you believe is gone forever

The Light Meets You As You Are

The sun is rising, and it feels like a betrayal to the part of you that died in the dark. You are carrying the heavy silence of a self you believe is gone forever, walking into a morning that demands you be someone new.

But look at the light returning—it does not ask you to rebuild what was lost. It simply shines on who you are right now, in this breath.

There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the apology could be formed, he ran. He did not wait for the old son to return.

He embraced the one who arrived. The light does the same.

It meets you not as a restoration project, but as a living thing that has survived the night. You are not the ruins of who you were.

You are the ground where the new thing grows.
