The Dawn Does Not Condemn You
The sun is just breaking the gray, and your phone lights up with their name. Your stomach drops.
You are convinced this call is to tell you how much you embarrassed yourself, to list every mistake you made last night. But the light that rises now does not check your record before it shines.
It sees you before you even speak. There was a man born blind, and the people around him assumed his condition was a punishment for sin—a debt he owed.
The light looked at him and said: neither this man nor his parents sinned. The shame you are bracing for is a story you are telling yourself, not a verdict from heaven.
The kingdom is inside of you, not in the voice on the other end of the line. You do not have to defend yourself against the dawn.
The light is already here, and it is not calling to condemn you.
