The Light Does Not Need Your Apology
The sun has gone down, and now the house is quiet enough to hear the rehearsal begin. You are practicing the speech again—the careful explanation for why you still haven't fixed it, why the door is still closed, why the mess is still on the floor.
You speak to an imaginary audience, polishing your defense against a judgment that hasn't even been spoken. But the light does not need your apology rehearsed in the dark.
It does not require you to have the answer before it enters the room. There was a man who lay beside a pool for thirty-eight years, and when the light finally found him, it did not ask for his resume or his excuse.
It simply asked if he wanted to get well. The question was enough.
The light was enough. You can put the speech down now.
The gathering dark is not a courtroom. It is a place where the light stands ready to heal what you cannot explain.
