Drop the act and be found
The steam rises, and you rehearse the words that will make them stay. You practice being strong so the child in you doesn't show how much it needs them to remain.
But the light does not need your performance. It saw you in the quiet before the water turned on.
It knows the fear behind the script. Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.
You do not have to earn their presence with a perfect speech. The mercy is already there, waiting for you to drop the act and simply be found.
