The Light Sees Behind Your Mask
The steam fogs the mirror, but it cannot hide the script you are rehearsing for the day. You are practicing the tone of voice that says 'I'm fine' while your hands shake under the water.
It is exhausting to build a mask so perfect that no one sees the fracture underneath. But the light does not need your performance to find you.
It sees the actor and the fear behind the curtain. Jesus walked through crowds that praised him while plotting his death, and he did not turn away from their duplicity.
He saw the whole truth and loved them anyway. You do not have to maintain the illusion for the light to stay close.
It is already standing in the bathroom with you, waiting for you to stop performing. The mask is heavy, but you were never meant to wear it alone.
