the fear that your apology will not be enough to mend the silence you created

Love Runs Before You Speak

The silence you created feels like a wall that no words can breach. You are afraid that even if you speak, even if you offer everything you have, the door will stay shut.

But listen — the light does not wait for your perfect apology to begin its work. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.

He did not wait for the speech to finish. He ran.

Before the apology, before the explanation, before the promise to do better — he ran. The distance was closed by love, not by the eloquence of the return.

Your fear says the silence is permanent. The light says the silence is already breaking.

The one you hurt may not be ready to hear you yet, and that is their right. But the light is already running toward you, not to condemn the silence, but to hold you within it.

You do not have to fix this tonight. You only have to stop hiding from the one who knows exactly what you did and loves you anyway.
