You Are Not The Echo Of Pain
The silence of this hour is loud enough to play back the recording in your head. You hear the exact pitch, the sharp edge, the way your voice cracked—and it sounds exactly like the one who hurt you.
You freeze in the dark, convinced that by sounding like them, you have become them. But listen closer.
The voice that condemns you for that slip is not the voice of the light. The light does not recoil when you sound broken.
It leans in. It knows the difference between a wound that bleeds and a heart that hates.
You are not the echo of your pain. You are the ear that hears it.
And in this deepest dark, the light is not asking you to be perfect. It is simply sitting with you in the aftermath, whispering that you are still you, and you are still loved.
