Rest Is Not a Betrayal of Love
The silence finally falls, and for a moment, you feel the terrible relief of not having to carry the world's pain. Then the guilt arrives, whispering that your rest is a betrayal of those who are still suffering.
But notice what happens when the noise stops — the light does not leave with the headlines. It was never in the chaos to begin with.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world even when the world goes dark. You do not have to burn yourself out to prove you care.
The capacity to love you feel right now was placed inside you by a love that came first, long before the first crisis broke your heart. If you do not bring forth the rest that is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
Lay down the weight. The light is still shining, even in your silence.
