The Light Does Not Throw Stones
The screen lights up in the dark. Two words: 'we need to talk.' And your stomach drops before you even type a reply, because you know the secret is out.
The silence of the house suddenly feels heavy, like it's holding its breath with you. You are waiting for the accusation, the end, the stone to be thrown.
But the light does not throw stones. It bends down.
It waits for the accusers to leave, one by one, until only you and the truth remain. Neither do I condemn you.
Go now. The thing you are afraid of has already been met with mercy.
The secret is out, and you are still here.
