The Father Runs Before You Speak
The screen is bright in the dimming room, and that one thread sits there, unread, heavy as a stone in your lap. You are paralyzed, not because you don't care, but because typing 'I'm sorry' feels like signing a confession that you are, and always have been, the disappointment you fear.
But listen — the light does not wait for your perfect apology to arrive before it moves toward you. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.
He did not wait for the speech to finish. He ran.
Before the words were fully formed, before the shame could settle — he ran. The silence you are keeping is not protecting anyone.
It is only keeping you alone in the dark. The truth is not a verdict you deliver against yourself.
It is the door you open so the light can come in and sit with you. You are not your fear.
You are the child who is already seen.
