You Are Already Home
The screen glows, and the comparison begins to settle in your chest like a heavy stone. You see their ascent, and you feel your own stillness as a failure, a stagnant puddle where there should be a river.
But the light does not measure worth by motion, or by the applause of the crowd, or by the height of the climb. There is a peace that waits for you when you finally put the phone down and let the day end.
It is not earned by your productivity. It is given.
The light is not impressed by the performance you showed the world today. It is only interested in the person who remains when the mask comes off.
You do not have to sail to be held. You are already home.
