The Light Sees Beneath The Mask
The question lands in the breakroom, casual and sharp. "How are you really doing?" And your mouth moves before your heart can catch up.
You hear the word "fine" leave your lips, smooth and practiced, and you realize with a quiet panic that you no longer know where the lie ends and the truth begins. You have worn this mask so long it has started to feel like your own skin.
But there is a seeing that pierces through the performance. The light does not need your rehearsed answers or your polished stability.
It sees the tremor in the hand that holds the coffee cup. It knows the exhaustion behind the smile that doesn't reach your eyes.
You do not have to take the mask off all at once. Just admit, even in the silence of your own mind, that you are tired.
The light is not waiting for a perfect confession. It is already standing beside you, seeing the real you beneath the script, and loving what it finds there.
The mask was never required, and it was never enough.
