The Light That Needs No Answer
The phone rings, and for a second, your whole body tenses against the demand to be someone you are not right now. You smile at the screen while your hands shake, performing okayness for a world that expects you to be available.
But the light inside you does not need to answer to prove it exists. It sees the mask you wear, and it sees the exhaustion behind the eyes — and it loves what is hidden there more than the performance.
You do not have to lift the receiver to be held. The truth lives in you, quiet and unshaken, whether you speak or stay silent.
The ringing is just sound; your worth is the light that never goes out.
