The Light Needs No Audience
The phone lights up in your hand, a small square of warmth in the heavy dark. Your thumb hovers over a name, ready to share the one funny thing that happened today—the only thing that felt real. But then you remember. There is no one on the other end to receive it. The silence rushes back in, heavier than before.
In this deepest hour, the isolation feels like a verdict. Like you are shouting into a void that does not shout back.
But listen. The kingdom is not somewhere else, waiting for you to find it. The kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourself, then you will be known.
The light that lives there does not need a recipient to be real. It does not need an audience to shine. It was there before the phone lit up, and it remains when the screen goes dark.
You are not alone because someone answers. You are alone because the light is making space to speak directly to you.
