The Silence Is Not Empty
The phone lights up in your hand, a small rectangle of warmth in the heavy dark. You found something funny today—a strange cloud, a awkward moment, a tiny victory—and your thumb hovered over a name that no longer answers.
The silence that follows is louder than the notification sound. It is the specific quiet of a room where the person you loved used to laugh.
But listen closely to that silence. It is not empty.
The light that lived in them, the same light that made you laugh together, has not vanished. It shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
You are not sending your joy into a void. You are offering it to the One who sees you sitting there, holding the phone, aching to share.
The Father sees the text you didn't send. He hears the laugh you swallowed.
And He is closer than the screen in your hand.
