You Do Not Have To Manufacture The Light
The phone lights up in the dark, and your stomach drops before you even see the name. You know what comes next: the hour of rehearsal, the forced casual tone, the mask you must craft before you can press call.
In this deepest hour, the weight of that performance feels like it might crush you. But listen — the light does not ask you to act.
It does not need your happy voice. There is a peace that comes not from your performance, but from a truth that lives inside you, waiting beneath the fear.
You do not have to manufacture the light; you only have to stop hiding it. The dread says you must be strong.
The silence says you are already held. You are not the mask you wear for them.
