The Light Sees Through Your Silence
The phone buzzes on the desk, and that single question from a friend — 'are you okay?' — feels less like care and more like an exposure. It means the silence you've been curating, the careful performance of being fine, has finally started to look like disappearing.
You stare at the screen, terrified that if you answer honestly, the mask will crack and everything will spill out. But listen — the light does not need your performance to find you.
It sees through the curated silence just as clearly as it sees through the noise. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
Even when you are trying to hide, even when you feel like you are fading, that inner light is still shining. It was there before you started pretending, and it is there now, beneath the fear of being found.
You do not have to explain your absence to be loved. The light already knows where you are.
The question isn't whether you are okay; it's whether you can let yourself be seen exactly as you are.
