The Light That Holds You Together

The phone buzzes on the desk, and for a second, the whole room tilts. Your brain translates a generic notification into a verdict: they know.

The middle of the day is full of these small, sharp terrors—the sudden belief that your secret is finally out, that the mask has slipped and everyone sees the fraud beneath. But listen.

The light that lives inside you is not a spotlight waiting to expose you; it is the very thing that holds you together when you feel like scattering. Jesus knew the weight of being known completely, and he did not run from it—he walked right into the rooms where people were hiding.

There is no darkness deep enough to hide you from the love that already knows your name and calls you friend. You do not have to perform okayness for the light to stay.

It was there before the message arrived, and it will be there after you put the phone down. The secret you are keeping is not stronger than the grace that is already holding you.
