Forgiveness Is Already Sitting With You
The phone buzzes in your palm, or maybe it doesn't, and you stare at the black glass waiting for a message that says you are forgiven. The silence stretches out, heavy and loud, telling you that you are still alone with what you did.
But notice how the light does not wait for a notification to find you. It was there before the screen lit up, and it is there now in the dark.
You do not need a text to tell you who you are. The verdict of your own heart is not the final word — there is a knowing deeper than your shame that has already seen you and stayed.
Put the phone down. The forgiveness you are waiting for is not coming from a distance.
It is already sitting in the room with you, quiet as the evening air.
