Being the Light for the Lost
The night is gathering, and your heart is heavy because you are watching someone you love walk toward a fire they cannot see. You stand there wanting to pull them back, but the darkness has a gravity that love cannot easily break.
— Yet remember that the light does not compete with the darkness; it simply shines, and the darkness has not overcome it. You cannot carry another person into the light, but you can be the one who refuses to look away.
— Even when they are lost, they are not gone. The father in the story did not wait for his son to clean his clothes or finish his speech; he was already running while the son was still a long way off.
— You do not have to fix the falling to love the faller. Hold your ground.
Stay in the light. They will find you there when they wake up.
