Safe to be empty now
The napkin is heavy in your pocket now, a secret weight you carried out of the room when you couldn't swallow a single bite. You smiled while your stomach tightened, pretending to be full while you were actually starving for peace.
The light does not ask you to explain why the food stayed on the plate. It sees the trembling hand and calls it holy.
There is a love that does not require your appetite to be perfect before it sits down with you. You are not defined by what you could not consume, but by the One who consumes your shame entirely.
Go home and let the napkin fall out of your pocket; you are safe to be empty now.
