Waiting for Feeling to Catch Truth
The music swells and everyone around you lifts their hands, but inside, there is only a quiet, hollow hum. You mimic the motions.
You sing the words. You perform the part of the moved soul while feeling absolutely nothing.
The gap between your outer display and your inner silence feels like a lie you are telling to the light itself. But the light was there before the song started, and it will be there after the last amen.
It does not depend on your ability to manufacture a feeling. It is not a reaction to your performance.
It is the substance beneath it. The light does not need your emotion to be real.
It only needs your presence. You are not fooling God by sitting still in the noise.
You are simply waiting for the feeling to catch up with the truth that is already holding you.
