The Light Lives in the Quiet
The morning light is harsh on the screen, exposing the draft you've written ten times. You reach for the phone, convinced that if you just explain it one more time, the silence will break and they will finally understand.
But the light does not live in the explanation. It lives in the quiet you are trying to fill.
Thomas said if you bring forth what is within you, it will save you; if you do not, it will destroy you. Perhaps what is within you right now is not more words, but the courage to stop.
The light was already there before you sent the text, and it remains when you put the phone down. You are not responsible for being understood; you are only responsible for being true.
