The Light Loves the Person Underneath
The morning light is harsh on the mask you wore to get here. It feels like if anyone saw the real you—the tired, the broken, the afraid—the love would instantly evaporate.
So you hold your breath, waiting for the moment they turn away. But listen.
The light does not love the performance. It loves the person underneath it.
There is a friend who sat at a table with a woman everyone knew was sinful, and he did not flinch. He let her tears fall on his feet while the room judged her, and he saw only her love.
You think you have to be whole to be held. You think you must be perfect to be seen.
The truth is simpler, and it cuts through the fear: you are already known. Completely.
And you are still loved.
