The Light That Refuses To Go Out
The morning light hits the window and you remember their face, but you know they aren't thinking of yours. It is a specific kind of loneliness to wear a mask of normalcy while your heart is still waiting for a call that isn't coming.
You feel invisible in a room full of people who see only the performance. But the light does not need you to perform to be real.
It was there before you loved them, and it is there now that they are gone. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
If it does not shine, it is dark. The love you are carrying is not wasted because it is not returned.
It is proof that the light is alive in you, regardless of where they are looking. You are not defined by who misses you.
You are defined by the light that refuses to go out.
