The Light Sees the Fracture Beneath
The morning light hits the screen, and there it is—a photo of you laughing with someone you used to introduce as yours. You put on the mask of being fine, the smile that says you are handling it, while inside you are unraveling.
The world sees the performance, but the light sees the fracture beneath the surface. It does not demand you take the mask off before it comes near.
It simply sits with you in the quiet gap between how you look and how you feel. You think you must be whole to be seen, but the light shines brightest on the broken parts you are trying to hide.
There is nothing concealed that will not be made known, not to expose you, but to remind you that you are already known completely. The mask is heavy, but you were never meant to carry it alone.
The light is not fooled by the smile, and it loves what is hiding behind it more than the performance itself. You do not have to be okay for the sun to rise.
