waking up and realizing your body survived the night without your permission

You Never Signed Permission to Survive

The morning light finds you already here, though you never signed the permission slip for your body to survive the night. You wake up wearing a face you didn't choose, carrying a breath you didn't ask for, and the weight of it all feels like a costume you can't take off.

The world expects you to perform okayness, to smile at the coffee shop and nod in the meeting, as if the miracle of waking up wasn't also a violation of your will. But the light does not demand a performance from the exhausted.

It sees the mask you wear and loves the one hiding behind it. You are not required to manufacture strength before breakfast.

The kingdom is not a reward for the ones who make it out of bed smiling; it is the ground beneath your feet right now, inside you and outside you. You do not have to earn your place in this day by pretending to be whole.

The light is already here, waiting in the quiet space between your exhaustion and your first step.
