The Crack Where Light Gets Out
The morning asks for a face you do not feel like wearing. You force the smile.
You hold the eye contact. But for a split second, you flinch — terrified they saw the crack in your composure.
You brace for the judgment. You wait for them to point at the fracture.
But they just smile back. They see the light, not the mask.
The light that lives in you was there before the performance began. It is there still.
It does not care about the act. It only cares about you.
The crack is not where you are broken. It is where the light gets out.
