Put Down the Script and Shine
The mirror has become a stage where you rehearse lines to prove you are still worth keeping. You say the joke, wait for a laugh that doesn't come, and feel the silence harden into proof that you are empty.
But the light does not need your performance to know who you are. It saw you before you learned to be funny, before you learned to be safe, before you learned to hide.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world. If it does not shine right now, it is not because the bulb has burned out.
It is because you are standing in front of it, blocking your own glow with the script you wrote to survive. The gathering dark is not here to judge your act.
It is here to watch you put the script down. You do not have to be interesting to be loved.
