The Light Knows You Before You Speak
The mirror feels like a stranger's room tonight. You stand there, rehearsing the words you think you need to say just to be recognized, convinced that the face looking back is someone no one knows anymore.
But the light does not need an introduction. It does not require you to explain how you became this person, or to apologize for the changes carved into your features by the years.
There is a voice that knows you so deeply it does not wait for your speech to begin. It saw you from a long way off, before you even reached the glass, and it ran to meet you while you were still practicing your apology.
You are not a stranger to the light. You are the one it has been watching for all along.
