The Light Remains Even in Numbness
The menu is open. The calendar is full.
And you feel nothing but a flat, gray static where a desire used to be. It is a specific kind of panic — the fear that the light inside you has gone out, leaving you unable to choose, unable to care, unable to move.
But listen — the darkness has not overcome it. The light is not a feeling you manufacture to pick a path.
It is the ground you are standing on even now, in this numbness. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.
He did not wait for the boy to feel worthy. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. Your indifference cannot stop the running.
The light does not need your enthusiasm to find you. It only needs you to be here, sitting in the quiet, too tired to pretend.
You are not broken because you cannot feel the pull. You are simply resting in the arms of the one who chose you before you ever chose yourself.
