You Are The Witness, Not The Savior
The mask you wear today feels heavier than usual, doesn't it? You smile at the coffee machine, you nod in the meeting, but inside you are watching someone you love slowly disappear into the dark.
You feel responsible for their survival, as if your vigilance could hold them together. But you cannot love someone back to life when they are choosing the grave.
The light in you is not a rescue rope you must throw every hour; it is a steady presence that refuses to burn out. There is a limit to what your hands can hold, and trying to carry their destruction will only break you both.
You are not the guardian of their soul; you are the witness to their pain. Loving them does not mean drowning with them.
