The Light Sees Behind The Mask
The mask is heavy this morning. You are walking through the motions, smiling at the right times, but your mind is stuck on a single frame: the moment their smile stopped short of their eyes.
You are replaying that split second on a loop, convinced it was the sound of a door locking forever. But the light sees what the performance hides.
It sees the terror behind your own eyes, the desperate hope that you haven't lost them after all. There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever — a truth deeper than that fleeting glance.
The connection you fear is broken is held by a love that does not depend on your perfect performance. You did not lose them in that second.
You are still here. And so are they.
