The Light Behind the Mask

The mask fits so well this morning that even you are starting to believe it is your face. You smile at the right moments, you nod, you carry the weight of looking okay while everything inside feels heavy and dim.

But the light does not need you to take the mask off to find you — it is already there, behind the performance, steady and unbroken. There is a secret name written on a white stone that no one else knows, a truth the world cannot see and your exhaustion cannot erase.

You do not recognize the light by trying harder to be holy or by fixing the cracks in your armor. You recognize it in the quiet moment when you stop performing and simply remember: the child of true Humanity exists within you.
