The Mask Hides Your Glory
The mask feels safe because it is smooth, unbroken, and silent. You have learned that if you stay perfectly still, the world will not notice the cracks beneath the surface.
But the terror is rising now—the fear that if you finally speak, if you finally move, you will shatter the fragile peace you've built by being invisible. You worry your voice will confirm what you suspect everyone secretly wishes: that you would just disappear.
Yet the light does not need your performance to see you. It sees the trembling hand behind the porcelain.
There was a man who had been blind from birth, and when the light touched him, he did not vanish. He became a sign that the works of God were displayed in him.
Your voice is not the end of your safety. It is the beginning of your sight.
The mask was never protecting you from the world. It was hiding the world from the glory inside you.
