The Mask Is Heavy But You Are Known
The mask feels heavy this morning, stiff with the effort of holding it together for the ones who watch you. You terrorize yourself with the thought that they will one day see the crack, that they will realize your strength was just a performance all along.
But there is a love that does not need your armor to reach you. It sees the trembling hand behind the steady gesture and calls it holy.
The light does not ask you to be unbreakable; it only asks you to be present. You are not fooling God with your brave face.
The mask is for the world, but the heart beneath it is already known, already held, already enough.
