the shame of failing publicly

You Are What the Light Knows

The mask feels heavy this morning, especially when everyone saw it slip. You walked into the room carrying yesterday's failure like a brand on your forehead, certain that every eye is tracking your shame.

But the light does not see a performance to be judged; it sees a child to be held. There was a woman caught in the act, surrounded by accusers ready to throw stones, and the light did not join the circle of judgment.

It bent down. It waited for the noise to die.

And then it spoke the only truth that matters: neither do I condemn you. The Father is greater than your heart's verdict.

The light is greater than your public mistake. You are not what they saw.

You are what the light knows.
