Holy Face Beneath the Heavy Mask
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You put it on before you even opened your eyes, smiling at the mirror while inside everything feels gray and hollow.
You walk through the motions, pretending there is meaning in the routine, but the silence behind the performance is deafening. — The light does not ask you to take the mask off right now.
It simply sees the face beneath it, and it calls that face holy. Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.
Not because you earned it by performing well, but because mercy found you while you were still hiding. The meaning you are searching for isn't a task to complete; it is a presence that has already entered your ordinary day.
You are not alone behind the smile.
